Supporting MHS Graduates Since 1937
DID YOU KNOW? More than 22% of the MHS graduating class of 2023 received a scholarship from the Mamaroneck-Larchmont Student Aid Fund (SAF). Scholarships were awarded to 88 students (an organization record), representing a commitment of over $450,000. 40% of our award recipients are the first generation of their families to attend college!
Our Story
In 1937, the STUDENT AID FUND (SAF) was incorporated as an independent organization with 19 school and local civic organizations as contributing members. The objective was to "assist worthy students to complete a college education." Today, our mission remains the same . . . helping Mamaroneck High School students afford college. Our two-year awards, typically ranging from $1000 to $4,000 per year, help close the gap between what students receive in financial aid and the cost of attending college. Our scholarships help cover tuition and expenses such as books, housing, meals, and transportation and may mean that students can spend more time studying and less time working at a paying job, live on campus, or emerge from college with less debt. Since our inception, we have helped over 3,000 MHS graduates fulfill their dream of a college education.

The Student Aid Fund currently awards over 40 Named Scholarships annually, made possible by the generosity of local organizations and individuals. There are many opportunities to set up a Named Award or Endowment.
