Following is an explanation of how your scholarship will be paid:


  • When you receive your first tuition bill, you will send it to your Class Contact who will confirm your demonstrated need and will have one half of your annual award paid to your college.  The tuition bill must have your name, student ID number and indicate that you are enrolled full-time.   Please make sure that you include the address to which the payment should be sent.
  • In the spring you will need to again send your tuition bill to your Class Contact so that the second half of your first year award can be paid to your college. 


In order for SAF to provide a scholarship for your second year of study, you are required to do the following:


  • Send a copy of your Student Aid Report, which is generated by FAFSA, to your Class Contact.
  • Send a copy of the financial aid package that you received from your college to your Class Contact.


Once this information is received, we will review it to confirm that you still have a demonstrated need and to determine the scholarship amount for the second year of full-time study.  Please note that in year two the scholarship will most likely remain the same, but it could change if the demonstrated need changes.

If the scholarship is confirmed for the second year, you will again be required to send copies of your tuition bills, as you did in the first year.

Remember that this scholarship can be used for four semesters of college attendance, spread out over the first three years of college.  If, for any reason, you will not need the award in a particular semester of study, please be sure to alert your Class Contact so that a note can be put in your record.
